Another week has gone by, and it’s been a good one. I have tried to make sure I am a little more focused which means trying to write everything down and makes plans. And it certainly does help!
I got my patterns through in the post so I have to look into fabric choice for the dressed and have started on my knitted bolero. I’m a little ‘lazy’ when it comes to doing tests or toiles but as I am not a great knitter I thought best to work a tension gauge for the pattern. And it’s already paid off, as my tension wasn’t right so need to use smaller needles. So a big PHHHEEEWWWW that I did that.
Sam and I had a day out on Saturday. After going to the Science & Industry Museum last weekend, it’s made us realise that there is so much that we could be doing instead of lazing around the house. So we headed to the V&A for the morning. I bought the Canon 100D in the end, and my gawd I LOVE it. Sam has said that I should only use the camera on manual settings to learn, so I accepted the challenge. It did mean taking about a million pictures of the same thing, but practice makes perfect, right? Here are some of the shots I took in the day (plus a few of Junko)
I treated myself to a Tatty Devine name necklace! I ave wanted one for ages and ages!
So this next week I am hoping to start another project which will be the first product that I want to start selling. I have quite a bit of work to do, all the design and tests need to be done but I am really looking forward to creating a whole project from scratch. I want to keep it all secret for now, I know that’s annoying, but the project will need some graphic design and crafty skills so please do watch this space. I also want to take more photos, and make a little camera case/bag. So plenty to keep me busy.
Until next week…
|I love this!|
Books! I love them. Well not all of them. I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to science fiction books. And weirdly (after discussing this with my friend Tony, books that use London as the location). I’ve decided to make this a little library where I can update my book list and hopefully, when I get a little better at ‘internet-ing’ get some recommendations from internet friends.
In a kind of ‘read most recent’ order.

If you don’t want to live in London Below after this, then we might not be able to be friends anymore. I read on the tube and honestly did not want to stop reading at the end of my journeys.
A really good quick read. The writing style was easy to follow and I liked the lead character and also the Gestalt’s. I am a HUGE sucker for buying books depending on the cover design… This was a massive factor on this book.
|The End Of Mr. Y|
All I can say about The End Of Mister Y is that after reading it, I wanted to tell everyone in the whole world to read it. If you like science-y technical ideas of time-travel then you will love this and feel like you are so smart after reading it. Although you probably won’t be that much smarter, just a little more curious to try small viles of liquid.
This week has been ok-ish. I’ve kinda been feeling sorry for myself as I have had a weird virus, I think, where I have been feeling really lethargic and crampy. Which hasn’t been fun… I’m feeling better today which is a lot more fun. It makes you lose your get-up-an-go so I haven’t felt very enthusiastic about much during this week. Then I thought to myself, ‘LAUREN! Snap out of it’, so this weekend I put on my happy face, and my feeling better attitude and tried to make the most of it.

Sam and I went to the Science and Industry Museum, for a flying visit, because neither of us are fans of loads of people and crowds. Then we drove to Twickenham to look for some materials for Sam, which ended up with us having a lovely pub lunch in the sun. YES! THE SUN! Definitely can’t wait for more sunny days. WOO.
I have decided that the only way forward in life, is to make lists. Here’s my list for this week.
This post is a little late in the day, but better late than never, right?
I am going on super budget whilst I start freelancing but I can always plan something lovely for the future. Today I was totally inspired by all things kitty…
I am totally a cat lady… And proud.
Today is all things Vivienne Westwood. I have been oohing and aaahing over her style (and attitude for years) and over the past few weeks (months) I literally cannot STOP looking at these beauties…
I want them ALL! I have been staring at them longingly on the Dolly Dagger site, which is also another site to behold, with its gorgeous dresses and accessories.
I know this is pretty cheeky, but I have found some very similar high street styles that I am going to have a look at tomorrow (sorry Vivienne! Once my bank manager says it’s ok your will ALL BE MINE)
These are from New Look and I am hoping they turn out ok! Will update as soon as I know!
Sourdough pizza! YUMMMM!
Went for dinner last week at the very lovely Franco Manca and it was pretty awesome! The pizza was really tasty and the restaurant is really cute! You can’t book so best to get there early, we were lucky as there was a big group of us so go a table pretty quickly.
I had a the meat special (which isn’t on the menu) but was really good. We also had some organic Red Wine which was better than I expected! All round, really good. Super tasty. Awesome.
I’ll definitely be going back again soon!
I am off to South Africa on Wednesday so will have a few foreign eateries on the blog 😀 WOOO. I’m super excited!
The other day I received my first little run of moo business cards, and all I can say is… FAB!
The quality is really great. The packaging is so cute. The service is awesome.
I got a small run of 20 Luxe Cards. And will definitely be ordering more! Sorry about the iPhone photos, I don’t have a snazzy SLR right now, maybe one day soon though.
